JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on Saturday (Jan 20) to push again towards US President Joe Biden’s remarks about Palestinian statehood after the war against Hamas in Gaza ends.
Biden on Friday said he spoke with Netanyahu about potential options for creation of an unbiased Palestinian state, suggesting one path may contain a non-militarized authorities.
“In his dialog with President Biden, Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated his coverage that after Hamas is destroyed Israel should retain safety management over Gaza to make sure that Gaza will now not pose a menace to Israel, a requirement that contradicts the demand for Palestinian sovereignty,” an announcement from the Israeli prime minister’s workplace mentioned.
